Best Intentions...

Well I really wanted to try to be more consistent with my blogs for you guys. It's just not happening. I barely have time enough in a day to do what I need to get done in the spa! So this is me apologizing. Sort of.

If you are like me, you have over 45 thousand emails in your inboxes. No? Oh okay, well I definitely do. I go through, I flag the ones that are important, and I don't even bother opening the rest. I imagine you guys probably are doing the same with any emails that the spa is sending out, and by spa, I mean me. I post everything that is happening at the spa on our social media outlets for those that follow us as well. I know that not all of you do, which is why I email. Instead of sending so many emails, I am trying a new Monthly Newsletter. This way you can see everything we have going on, all at once. In one email.

1. Open that email. 2. Flag that email. 3. Don't hold me to any of this.

In the mean time, why haven't you come in and had your micro-needling treatment yet? It is my absolute favorite. If I had the time, I would do that treatment once every month. But somehow, lately, time is not on my side.

I digress.

What is micro-needling?

Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation. It is a minimally invasive procedure that's used to treat skin concerns via collagen production. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help those looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.

Microneedling offers fairly immediate results.

"From microneedling alone, you will look plump, pink and luminous for a couple of weeks. On a short-term basis, it plumps the skin and makes the skin look more radiant from inflammation and very superficial swelling," Alexiades says. (Elle Magazine) And if Elle magazine says so then it must be true.

Also, I say so.

"But microneedling also promises improvement over time. According to a 2008 study, skin treated with four microneedling sessions spaced one month apart produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing treatment."

Alright. so I don't know how true that is, or how they even measure a 400% increase in collagen but I won't question it. That's the trick. You can't do just a one and done. Unless we are talking plastic surgery (and even then) nothing is a one and done.

The process:

1. You come in to the spa and get to see my smiling face.

2. We will numb the areas of treatment for about 30 minutes. We always recommend doing your neck along with your face because well.....we think they should match.

3. We use a hyaluronic acid serum along with the micro-needling pen to begin treatment. The HA is used as a buffer, and is pushed into the skin with tiny pinpoint needles.

4. You may or may not leave looking like you just washed your face with a little blood. Totally fine. Totally normal.

5. And If I do my job correctly, I will make sure you leave with your aftercare instructions before you head home.

The numbing makes the Microneedling tolerable. There may be a few places (forehead, nose, above lip) that are a little sensitive but that is to be expected. I usually sneeze when the pen is over my sinuses. I sneeze a lot.

For the rest of this month the Micro-needling is discounted for such a great price - you really can't beat it!!!!

So come see my smiling face.

P.S. If you have been in to the spa lately you have either 1) seen the pictures we have for our new service - The Plasma Pen - or 2) have seen the pictures and asked to be treated immediately or 3) Seen the pictures and scheduled to come see us ASAP. The Plasma Pen is phenomenal. I encourage you to google it. IF you have an instagram account, I also suggest looking it up there too. I will be coming out with the Plasma Pen and all it's fabulous benefits and details soon.

You know, as soon as I find more time in a day. ;)
